Because I manage everything myself—from dyeing the wool to packing your orders—I want to make sure your shopping experience is as smooth as possible, especially when it comes to the complex post-Brexit VAT rules.

To protect you from unexpected fees and ensure your hand-dyed yarns reach you safely, I have structured my UK shipping process as follows:

📦 Orders up to £135

For orders with a value of ÂŁ135 or less (excluding shipping), UK law requires VAT to be collected at the point of sale.

Since I am a small artisan business and not registered for UK VAT, I process these orders exclusively through my Etsy shop.

- How to order: If you see something you love, please visit my [Link to Etsy Shop].

- The Benefit for You: Etsy automatically handles the 20% UK VAT at checkout. This means your package clears customs quickly without you having to pay extra administrative fees or surprise taxes upon delivery.

- Custom Orders: If the specific yarn or colorway you want isn’t listed on Etsy, just send me a message! I’ll be happy to create a Private Custom Listing on Etsy just for you.

📦 Orders over £135

For larger orders exceeding ÂŁ135, I can process your purchase directly here on my website. In this case, VAT is not collected at checkout.

Payment at Import: You will be contacted by the courier to pay the 20% UK VAT (and any applicable duties) once the parcel reaches the UK border.

Courier Handling Fees: Please note that couriers charge a flat "Handling Fee" for customs clearance:

  • Private Couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx): Usually between ÂŁ10 and ÂŁ15.
  • Postal Services: Fees are typically lower but vary.

Customs & Duties: All import taxes and carrier handling fees are the responsibility of the buyer. I recommend tracking your shipment closely to ensure prompt payment to the courier, avoiding any delivery delays.

Returns: If customs fees are refused and the package is returned to Italy, please note that original shipping costs are non-refundable.
