PROFUMO DI SERA,
PASSI NEL GIARDINO,
IL CIELO SI TINGE.
(Scent of evening, steps in the garden, the sky takes its hue)
Viola is a delicate, smoky purple gradient. Rather than a collection of different colors, it is a journey that begins with a muted, dusty violet and fades into a very pale, ethereal lilac—reminiscent of the shifting light at dusk.
Color & Current Dye Bath In this specific dye bath, the hue maintains a sophisticated, dusty character. As seen in the photos and knitted swatches, the purple remains soft and "muted," avoiding any bright or saturated floral tones in favor of a more nostalgic, antique look. It is the perfect choice if you are looking for a calm, balanced, and organic palette. In the swatches, you can see how the five intensities blend seamlessly into one another, moving from a deep twilight shadow to a soft, misty morning finish.

The Gradient Collection: My Method This collection was born from a desire to create garments that last—with colors inspired by nature that never go out of style—while also breaking the monotony of a single solid color. Gradients allow for those subtle shifts that make a garment beautiful, timeless, and truly unique.
The process:
- Same recipe, different intensities: I use the same pigment blend in different dilutions for all 5 skeins; the result is a harmonious transition from tone to tone, with no jarring color jumps.
- Small batches: Every set is hand-dyed in my studio. As a manual process, slight variations between batches guarantee that every project is one of a kind.
- Carefully designed transitions: These gradients are designed for an effortless continuous fade, but they work equally well when used individually to create subtle contrasts within a larger garment.
🎨 Styling & Pairing Suggestions
The Natural Pairing: Viola pairs beautifully with misty grays, warm wood tones, or deep charcoal.
Thematic Pairings (Snail Mix): I love pairing gradients to create greater depth and unique effects. Here are the atmospheres Viola evokes when combined with other sets:
Pansy garden (with Senape): One of my favorite combinations. The muted purple and the earthy gold of Mustard create a playful yet sophisticated contrast, reminiscent of a bed of colorful pansies in the spring sun.
Lavender Field (with Eucalipto): The dusty purple and sage green recreate the peaceful look of a Mediterranean garden in bloom.
Distant Sunset (with Amarena): The muted purple meeting the deep cherry red creates a rich, dramatic sky-like transition.
Dusk Shadows (with Ossidiana or Gray): A classic, sophisticated combination that emphasizes the smoky, desaturated nature of this specific purple bath.
