🌿 After Winter's Quiet: Spring Gradients Are Here
Share
Amarena, Eucalipto, Viola, and Rosa Antico are back in stock — plus a month of swatch exploration.
After months of winter, when cold light seems to drape everything in neutral, desaturated tones, spring's arrival — new leaves, first blooms — feels like permission to live in color again.
I found myself craving light and color — not bright or loud, but warm, gentle, muted tones that feel timeless and simple, colors that play and inspire without demanding anything. The kind of palette where creativity flows easily because nothing fights, nothing shouts.
I went back to my dyes and pots with this feeling in mind.

This past month, I’ve spent a lot of time working with swatches, both in knitting and crochet. Not for a finished piece, but only to see how the colors evolve while working, how they whisper to each other across the gradient, where hidden undertones emerge in certain light. And of course to inspire you.
They’re just samples, nothing more.
Yet, they represent the contrast of my creative space: the studied, calculated placement of color sitting alongside a chaos of minis to be wound and little yarn balls rolling here and there. It is a perfect reflection of the two extremes that live in me — calculated order and free-spirited chaos.
These colors have a harmony that makes them work beautifully on their own, but even more so when they are joined and mixed. Whether you follow the gradient in an orderly and deliberate way, as I did, or simply play freely by mixing the palette, the harmony remains.

In the coming weeks, I’ll share these swatches in detail: how they’re constructed, the techniques I used, and the ways they might speak to each other in various projects — from the simplest knitting to textures, colorwork, and crochet.
I’ll be sharing these deep dives here in your inbox and on my blog for those who love a slower read, while on Instagram you’ll find more glimpses of the process.
But first, let me tell you about the four colorways that inspired it all.
Frutti di bosco, succo tra le dita, dolce è il ricordo.
Wild forest berries, juice between fingers, sweet is the memory.
Amarena is a dusky, desaturated cherry red. It’s a journey that begins with deep, concentrated berry and softens into a delicate, blush-toned dusty pink. In this specific dye bath, the hue has taken on a golden, earthy warmth, reminiscent of autumn fruits ripened in the late sun.
Foglie d'argento, nebbia tra rami antichi, il bosco dorme.
Silvery leaves catching morning light, cool and clear.
Eucalipto is where winter’s quiet meets spring’s gentle awakening. This sage green moves from a deep, forest-weighted green through creamy ivory undertones, like misty eucalyptus leaves backlit by the early sun. It’s soft, substantial, and feels like a whisper against the skin.
Profumo di sera, passi nel giardino, il cielo si tinge.
Scent of evening, steps in the garden, the sky takes its hue.
Viola is a delicate, smoky purple that fades into an ethereal lilac, mirroring the shifting light at dusk. It maintains a sophisticated, "muted" character, avoiding bright tones in favor of a more nostalgic, antique look. You can see how the intensities blend seamlessly, from deep twilight shadows to a soft, misty morning finish.
Rose antiche, polvere di petali, tramonto che rimane.
Old roses, petal dust, a sunset that lingers.
Rosa Antico is perhaps the most romantic of the four — and maybe my absolute favorite of all time. It’s a soft, muted mauve-pink that feels both vintage and timeless. The gradient moves from a deeper, wine rose through warm midtones to the palest blush. It’s the kind of color that feels like it’s always existed, waiting for you to find it.
This collection was born from a desire to create garments that last—with colors inspired by nature that never go out of style—while also breaking the monotony of a single solid color. Gradients allow for those subtle shifts that make a garment beautiful, timeless, and truly unique.
