2.25 to 3.25 mm (U.S. 1 to 3) needles - around 27–32 sts in Stockinette stitch to 10 cm - 4"
3.25 to 3.75 mm (U.S. 3 to 5) needles - around 23–26 sts in Stockinette stitch to 10 cm - 4"
Those OOAK minis were all dyed reusing the dye left in the pots after dyeing gradient sets.
They could be faded or striped in fun little projects, my favourite pattern for mini skeins is Leftover City
