Our 100% non superwash pure wool yarn bases. Lana Peruviana is made of Peruvian Highland wool.
It comes from a crossbreed sheep that lives in the Peruvian highlands at over 2,000m above sea level. These crossbreed animals derive from Corriedales and Merinos, and the environment in which they live allow them to produce a wool that is dry, crimpy and durable. At 27 micron the wool is not quite as soft as merino, but it is stronger than merino, it is also warm, and it has good elasticity.
Here it is a new favourite yarn, we love to feel its crimpy texture under our hands. We especially love it for sweaters, cardigans and shawls.
