PETALI SPESSI,
TERRA CHE SCALDA,
SOLE AL TRAMONTO.
(Thick petals, warming earth, sunset sun)

Rosa Antico is a deep, sophisticated warm pink gradient. Rather than a collection of different colors, it is a journey that begins with a concentrated, dusky rose and fades into a soft, earthy blush—acting as a beautiful bridge between deep floral pinks and muted violets.

Color & Current Dye Bath In this specific dye bath, the hue is deeply organic and warm. As seen in the photos and knitted swatches, the color sits perfectly between a warm pink and a desaturated purple, avoiding any cool tones. It feels cozy and natural, reminiscent of sun-baked petals or wild heather, making it the perfect choice if you are looking for a mature and grounded palette. In the swatches, you can see how the five intensities blend seamlessly into one another, moving from a complex, berry-stained depth to a delicate, warming petal-like finish.

STOCK & SHIPPING TIMES:

  • In Stock: Ready to ship in 1-3 business days.
  • Dyed to Order: This set is made specially for you. Please allow 2-3 weeks for your set to be crafted and fully dried before shipping.

Note on Batches: Hand-dyed yarn varies slightly between baths. If you are planning a large project, I recommend ordering a Dyed to Order set to ensure all skeins are dyed in the same harmonious bath.

INSPIRATION & SWATCHES
The colorwork swatch feature the motif from the Renaissance Sweater by Eleanor Mortensen. As soon as I saw it, I knew the gradients would be perfect for it - the possibilities for play are endless!

I’ve knitted two versions using Eucalipto and Rosa Antico, reversing the Main and Contrasting colors to show how much the final look can change. Check my blog soon for tips on how to achieve this effect and more!

The Gradient Collection: My Method This collection was born from a desire to create garments that last—with colors inspired by nature that never go out of style—while also breaking the monotony of a single solid color. Gradients allow for those subtle shifts that make a garment beautiful, timeless, and truly unique.

The process:

  • Same recipe, different intensities: I use the same pigment blend in different dilutions for all 5 skeins; the result is a harmonious transition from tone to tone, with no jarring color jumps.
  • Small batches: Every set is hand-dyed in my studio. As a manual process, slight variations between batches guarantee that every project is one of a kind.
  • Carefully designed transitions: These gradients are designed for an effortless continuous fade, but they work equally well when used individually to create subtle contrasts within a larger garment.

🎨 Styling & Pairing Suggestions

The Natural Pairing: Rosa Antico pairs beautifully with natural linen tones, deep chocolate browns, warm grays, or oxidized gold.
Thematic Pairings (Snail Mix): I love pairing gradients to create greater depth and unique effects. Here are the atmospheres Rosa Antico evokes when combined with other sets:

  • Wild Heather (with Viola): A tonal masterpiece. Since Rosa Antico acts as a bridge to purple, it blends beautifully with the Viola set for a transition that feels like a field of blooming heather.
  • Undergrowth / Sottobosco (with Eucalipto): The classic botanical combination. The earthy rose acts as hidden wildflowers framed by the dusty foliage of Eucalipto.
  • Warm Orchard (with Amarena): A complex, sophisticated pairing. The warmer, dustier notes of this bath offer a subtle contrast to the deeper, desaturated cherry of Amarena.
  • Harvest Hearth (with Senape): Deeply autumnal. The combination of earthy pink and warm mustard creates a vibrant, cozy, and nostalgic atmosphere.
